Duties of Officers

  • Duties of Post Commander- to preside at all meetings of Post 10 and to have general supervision over all the business and affairs of Post 10.

  • Duties of Vice-Commander- shall assume and discharge the duties of the office of commander in the absence or disability of, or as called upon by the Post 10 commander with particular interest towards the increase in the membership of Post 10. 

  • Duties of 2nd Vice Commander- shall provide programs that attract attendance and promote patriotic observances.

  • Duties of Post Adjutant- shall have charge of and keep a full record of all proceedings of all meetings, keep records as required by Department and National Organizations, render reports of membership and under direction of the commander handle all correspondence of Post 10.

  • Duties of Finance Officer- shall have charge of all finances and banking duties, making monthly financial reports to the *Executive Committee of Post 10.

  • Duties of Judge Advocate- shall supply professional advice in the conduct of the business of Post 10 and is the guardian of the Post 10 Constitution and By-laws. 

  • Duties of Post Historian- shall be charged with the individual records and incidents of Post 10 and it's members.

  • Duties of Post Chaplain- shall be charged with the spiriual welfare of the Post 10 comrades and will offer divine but nonsectarian service in the event of dedications, funerals, public functions, etc.

  • Duties of Sergeant-at-Arms- shall preserve order at meetings and be custodian of the colors, as well as welcoming new members.

  • Duties of Service Officer- shall be responsible for bringing to the attention of all veterans and their dependents the rights and benefits granted them by law.

     

*Ware County Post 10 officers together, perform the duties of an Executive Committee and have charge of the management of all Ware County Post 10 affairs.
